Be Happy

There are just days when my creativity is asleep. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get past the mental or creative block. If I force it, I end up creating something really simple that makes me feel "meh". On the other hand, if I stay away from creating for too long, it takes even more time to get back into the flow of things.

I haven't figured out the solution yet, but I think it's worth exploring different types of creativity at times like these. I might not be able to pull off a complete card, but I could play with die-cuts or do some coloring. One big thing I'm trying to keep in mind is that it's okay to just play. I don't have to complete a project every crafty session. Sometimes starting it and walking away when I get stuck gives me that clarity to know what I want to do when I came back to it.

Rule with Coffee

Tuesdays are always busy and require copious amounts of delicious coffee to get through the day. I am eternally grateful for the coffee-maker on Tuesdays, and I thought it would be fun to bring this sentiment onto a card.

I kept things very simple, but the warm tones and a fun little pattern makes for a happy card.

Be bold

Coffee is the only thing I seem to be surviving on these days, so I thought I'd make a little card to tuck a coffee gift-card in. It will sure cheer up a friend in dire need of caffeine.

Coffee Love

Good days definitely start with coffee -especially Mondays when it's time to get back to the grind. I'm not a fan of Mondays, but I am always happy to sip my morning cup of coffee.

Bring more coffee

It's Monday, and I need more coffee -- something I catch myself saying every Monday. I thought I'd whip up a quick card using a to-go cup stamp and a snarky sentiment strip from Tim Holtz. Both of them were a part of Simon Says Stamp card kits, so I'm glad to be making good use of them. And, of course, to tie everything together, I added some gold sparkle.

Warm wishes of love

I couldn't resist just one more cute cup-o'-love card. I kept things very simple and made my own patterned background with the heart-eyed smiley face from the stamp set. A bundle of hearts and some glittery enamel dots just tied everything together.

Love Donuts and Coffee

Yesterday's cup of love made me think of coffee and donuts, so I just had to whip up another cup o' love card using some stamps from Simon Says Stamp and paper from Doodlebug. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out

Coffee Hugs

Today is one of those days where coffee and warm hugs are definitely needed. So, I thought I'd share another fun card that uses a sticker and a stamped sentiment. I used a die frame and I really like the effect. I think I might need to do a die highlight for my card trio next.

Coffee Break

Simon Says Stamp - Coffee And Tea stamp, Echo Park - Sentiment Words die, Simon Says Stamp dye inkpads in Mint and Goldenlocks

Today, I'm sharing a fairly simple card that I made to go with a coffee gift card. I wanted to keep the card pretty simple, while playing around with some masking techniques. I used a finger dauber and some post-it tape to blend some random geometric shapes.

I used Simon Says Stamp's dye inks to create the blended areas and I was really surprised at how smooth of a blend I got. I think I'll have to blend with dye inks some more in the future, especially since the process felt much less messy than blending with oxide inks has been for me.

Coffee and You

Good mornings begin with coffee. Great mornings begin with coffee and your favorite people. So, to celebrate some of my favorite people, I created a quick and quirky coffee card. With the bright yellow and dark brown tones, I think the palette is so cheerful and happy.

Coffee Thanks

I recently pulled out my Memento Luxe pigment inks that I got a few years ago now. I figured they must be dried out by now, and I intended to throw them out. To my delight, I found them to be in a working condition. I guess I stored them just right, so now there's a few colorful pigment inks I can play around with - and that's great, because nothing beats pigment inks when it comes to detailed sentiments.

So, after stamping and clear-embossing the sentiment, I dug through my bits and pieces and found a coffee stamp I'd colored some time ago. I paired it with some masculine paper and a dark card base.

Coffee makes it possible

It's Friday (yay!), and I'm still on my coffee kick from yesterday. For today's card, I pulled out the Coffee and Tea stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. This stamp was part of a card kit that I absolutely adore, and I've had fun coloring the different cups and accessories. I paired the cup with a simple polka-dot paper and a strip of glittery gold cardstock for a bit of extra shine.

Be Coffee

It's Thursday today, but it feels like a Monday - in that I feel very "meh" and need a cup of coffee or two to get me through the day. Of course, I had to take advantage of my coffee-craving mood and I whipped up a quick card using Simon Says Stamp's Choose Happy stamp set. I paired it with a fun patterned paper from Doodlebug and a to-go coffee cup puffy sticker.

The coffee sentiment is one of the reasons why I bought this set, but it also includes several other fun and encouraging sentiments. I think I'll make use of it again in the future.

Thanks a Latte

Today's card features a lovely punny sentiment that I've embossed in gold on some black cardstock. I love the embossed sentiment look, but I don't seem to create them often. Since my recent motivation is to make better use of my supplies, I pulled out some dies and my heat tool to make today's card.

Bits and Pieces: Camera and Coffee

Today, I'm sharing a couple of really simple cards made from bits and pieces left on my desk. The first card features a cute camera and a sticker sentiment.

The second card is coffee-themed and features a cute frame and a puffy coffee cup-to-go sticker. I paired it with a coffee patterned paper and a striped frame.

EPH- Coffee Thanks

Today's card is a very quick creation made from bits and pieces I found in my ephemera stash. I really liked the two coffee cups and how well they layered together, so I added them to a woodland background paper. I like how all the elements play together.

Gimme Coffee

Simon Says Stamp - Coffee and Tea stamp

I drink coffee-  not too much, only a cup in the morning and a cup in the evening. But it's enough to make appreciate this amazing drink and to agree with the sentiment on today's card. With enough coffee, anything IS possible - including a mad crafty dash to compensate for life putting a full stop to crafting. I've had a very difficult and busy week, but I still managed to stay true to my goal of making and sharing a card every day in 2018. Coffee helped. A lot. :)

Coffee and Friends

Simon Says Stamp - Coffee and Tea stamp

This stamp set came in a card kit back in February 2017, and it was one of those kits that I just HAD to have. And then, of course, I disassembled it and put everything away before using it after it lounged around my crafty desk for a few months. Now that it's almost a year later, I figured it was about time to pull out the adorable stamp and make some pretty things with it. And voila! A card for today.

I added a bunch of fun papers, enamel dots and shapes to this card. I especially love the little coffee beans around the coffee cup - they're just adorable!

Cold Hello

As the cold front continues today, I thought I'd share another wintry card with you. This time, I'm featuring a stamp from C.C. Designs that I've blogged about before, though in autumnal theme. I made a scene with a bit of masking and ink-blending, and added a vintage feel with old text paper and inking up the center panel edges.
