We Flamingo Together

Today is my birthday and I wanted to share a card that makes me happy. It's an idea that's been in the back of my mind for a few weeks now, but I hadn't gotten around to creating it until now. And it turned out just like I wanted it to - which is amazing.

I'm not doing anything big today. Just a quiet day that I can spend on my favorite hobbies - which is a perfect birthday in my book. How do you like to celebrate?

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! On a day about love, I thought I'd chat a little bit about what I've loved lately.

One thing I've been enjoying a lot is a daily cup of tea. I make a cup of tea at the start of my lunch break at work and enjoy it shortly after. I was lucky enough to receive a large selection box of teas for Christmas from my sister-in-law a little while ago, so I have many delicious options to try.

Another thing I've loved lately is journaling. I try to journal daily, as I really enjoy the feeling of writing by hand. Throughout 2020, I'd invested in some stationery supplies and I filled out several journals completely. I'm happy to continue journaling regularly this year, as well.

And, of course, I've rediscovered my love for stamping and coloring. It took time to get back on track, but I am doing much better and making great use of my supplies. That makes me very happy.

Made for each other

We are getting close to Valentine's Day! I haven't made very many love-themed cards yet this year, but I may do so throughout the year as I am with Christmas cards. I find that one can never share enough love, so love cards usually get made a lot in my crafty space.

I have gone through and reorganized some of my supplies a little. I like to periodically look through my stash - even when it's been organized in a way that works for me. I can pull out seasonal supplies or supplies I would like to use in the near future and remind myself of goodies I might have forgotten.

Since I'm not actively bringing in any new supplies, it's much easier to go through things in small batches and come up with ideas on how to use them. It's a very satisfying feeling to know I have everything I already need right at hand and work within the constraints of my current stash.

Sending Love

At the end of 2019, I had spent a couple of weeks coloring and fussy-cutting some wintry images with the thought that I would make holiday cards throughout the year (and not be overwhelmed again when holiday season rolls around, as I inevitably get each year). I didn't make any holiday cards in 2020 - with the exception of a small "thank you" set I gave away as a gift.

Having pre-colored and precut elements really makes card-making faster, and I didn't want my hard work to go to waste. So, I'll try to incorporate the elements into cards throughout this year. They won't all be holiday cards - I want to challenge myself to use some elements in more general cards, such as birthday and thank you cards. But I hope to make at least one holiday card per month and get my Christmas card stash a little more bulky for the end of 2021.

This card combines some wintry animals with a few layers of patterned paper and die-cut panels. I like the combination of warm colors with the icy snow setting. I think it feels like a warm and cuddly winter hug.

Astronaut (take 2)

I've been enjoying using patterned paper a lot lately, so I thought I'd try to use up some scraps, too. I like how the concept turned out!

Astro-World

With so many boys in the family, I'm perpetually in need of boy cards. Thankfully, I've got a few fun boy-themed stamps in my stash that make boy cards a breeze.

Captain of My Heart

Keeping up with the nautical theme, here is a super simple little love card. I combined Birdie Brown's Mermazing and Party Like a Pirate stamp, along with a bit of inking over patterned paper. It's very simple, but I think it works.

Happy Heart Day!

Happy Valentine's weekend! I have spent this weekend doing a few fun things with my husband, but I did want to share this simple little card I made with nothing but patterned paper, cardstock, a die and enamel dots.

Lots of Nutsy Love

We're getting close to Valentine's Day. While I won't be making a ton of Valentine creations this year, you may see a couple of lovey-dovey cards in the next couple of weeks. I thought I'd start today's card with a cute critter. It's not a love set, but I think it works.

Light Up My World

I'm pulling out some favorite palettes for today's card. Teal, yellow and white feel like summer to me, and some stitching and scallops make the card come together perfectly.

Deeply In Love

Card number two in the challenge features the adorable submarine from Lawn Fawn. With the cute fish patterned paper, I think it works wonderfully.

Coffee Love

Good days definitely start with coffee -especially Mondays when it's time to get back to the grind. I'm not a fan of Mondays, but I am always happy to sip my morning cup of coffee.

Adore Layers

For today's card, I thought I'd try something different again. This card has no stamping and no coloring - only die-cuts, some washi and a few enamel dots. It turned out really different, but I will have to play with this concept again in the future.

Loved Hug

I wanted to play with some die shapes today, so I made a little scene with a bird and a bunny from my colored images stash. I also used some alphabet stickers - which I really ought to use more often on cards.

Bits & Pieces: Be Mine

A quick share today - just playing with bits and pieces of things on my desk. I did enjoy using velum on this card. It's an embossed velum that has fun silver or gold elements. Combined with a fun patterned paper and an embossed sentiment, I think it turned out pretty fun.

We belong together

I generally make only A2 cards - both because it's a canvas size I'm comfortable with and also because I only have A2-sized envelopes. But sometimes it's fun to switch things up a little and try a different size.

This card is a square card that's 4.25x4.25. I think I can modify an envelope to work with this card size. If not, I do have a few cute paper goodie bags that would fit.

The cute stamps are from Lawn Fawn and I think it makes for a cute little love notecard.

Rawr Dino

I had to play with the adorable dino just one more time - especially since I did not get a chance to use the awesome sentiment from this set on my last card. I made use of a tag here - something I should try a little more often.

Love Sheep

I'm still working my way through the lovely Birdie Brown sheep set, and I thought I'd switch gears a little and make a love-inspired card. The sheep with the cute heart just made me think it would make for a fun Valentine.

I know we're past Valentine's day already, but the world could always use a little more love...

Warm wishes of love

I couldn't resist just one more cute cup-o'-love card. I kept things very simple and made my own patterned background with the heart-eyed smiley face from the stamp set. A bundle of hearts and some glittery enamel dots just tied everything together.
