Special Friend

I got a small set of blending brushes for Christmas, and I really wanted to try them out. I went for a super soft barely-there blend, and the brushes are really excellent for that. I will have to play with them again sometime.

Note, this is my 1000th blog post. Queue small celebration, hooray~!

Lots of Nutsy Love

We're getting close to Valentine's Day. While I won't be making a ton of Valentine creations this year, you may see a couple of lovey-dovey cards in the next couple of weeks. I thought I'd start today's card with a cute critter. It's not a love set, but I think it works.

Mint Love

In contrast to yesterday's pink creation, today's girly card is all about mint. I paired the adorable unicorn from The Greeting Farm with a pretty sparkle patterned paper and a die-cut panel. I found the perfect sticker in my sticker stash for the sentiment and a few sequins just rounded everything off perfectly.

Pinky Birthday

I'm working on my card stash again, and noticed that I was still in dire need of some birthday card. I thought I would start with a girl card - and that, of course, had to feature bright balloons, pink, stars and unicorns. I used the unicorn from The Greeting Farm and I think she turned out super sweet.

Nurses make a difference

The Greeting Farm - Cheeky Nurse (retired), Simon Says Stamp - Stripe Greetings

I really enjoyed coloring the cheeky nurse for my previous project, so I thought I'd ink her up again and make another encouraging card. As with the other card, I combined a neutral color (grey) with a pop of white and red. I kept the layout very simple, as it highlights the stamp better.

Hello Sweetie Pie

The Greeting Farm - Cheeky Cherry Pie (retired)

For today's card, I played around with some shapes and a palette I don't usually go for - yellow and green. I used My Favorite Things Blueprints 25 (retired) and a stitched circle die, along with a hello die. I paired the die-cut elements with a lemon patterned paper and added some enamel dots and word stickers to finish everything off.

Congrats Nurse

The Greeting Farm - Cheeky Nurse, Altenew - Lace Up

One of my friends recently completed her certification to become a Registered Nurse, and I wanted to celebrate the occasion with a card. I used Cheeky Nurse from The Greeting Farm and a sentiment from Altenew's Lace Up. I opted for brown tones with a pop of red.

CAS - Ruby

The Greeting Farm - Ruby (retired), Hero Arts - Written in the Stars (retired)

A very clean-and-simple quick card for today. I used a cute retro stamp called Ruby and a hand-sketched border around the card to add a bit of whimsy.

Pin-Up Birthday

Today's card adds a bit of retro/pin-up motif to my card stash. I really like the birthday sentiment with its art-deco font, and I had to dig through my stash to find a perfect image to go along with it. I liked the cheeky pin-up look of this nurse from The Greeting Farm, so I just had to color her in and add her to the card.

I kept the rest of the card very simple, using a red polkadot patterned paper and some enamel dots to finish everything off.

Birthday Pony

I wasn't really sure about sharing this card. There's nothing about it that I dislike, per-say, but it somehow still makes me feel underwhelmed. It could be the simplicity of the design, or maybe it's just that I've used this layout/supply combination a lot lately.

Still, it's not a failed card, so I might as well share.

Pinky Hello!

Simon Says Stamp - Small Hello die, Simon Says Stamp - Dot Scallop Border die, The Greeting Farm - Hello Unicorn

Okay, I promise, it's the last pony card for a while - but I, once again, just couldn't resist making one more cute card.

For today's card, I paired the unicorn from Hello Unicorn with some fun dies I got from Simon Says Stamp. I've been wanting the dotted scallop border die for ages now, and I finally got it as a part of a Christmas gift. It's definitely one die I'll have to play around with more.

I colored the unicorn in very soft peachy pinks this time. I really like the palette and I think it looks feminine without being too baby-like.

Red and Gold

The Greeting Farm - A Lil' Magic, The Greeting Farm -Your Wings

You guessed it! More fun with ponies today, featuring A Lil' Magic and Your Wings stamps. I went with a slightly different palette this time, bringing a pop of bright red and golden yellow to a polka-dot pattern background.

Starry Hello

The Greeting Farm - A Lil' Magic stamp

It's the beginning of a new week, and hopefully one that will be better than the last. I am still on a pony kick (because I can't stop coloring their hair!), so today's card features another lovely unicorn - this time in green.

I paired her with a rainbow paper and then pulled out a stencil to add even more rainbow goodness to the stenciled stars. I die-cut a sentiment from black cardstock and finished everything off with a few enamel dots.

TGF - Violet, Make A Wish

The Greeting Farm - A Lil' Magic stamp, Doodlebug - Fairy Tales 6x6

Today's card features a very sweet little unicorn from The Greeting Farm. Aside from the lovely design, one of the things that drew me to this stamp set is the hairstyles- and I love using my Copics to color hair. This time, I went with purple tones, which matched up with the patterned paper I wanted to use. I added a bit of extra depth with colored pencils, and rounded off the card with some enamel dots.

I kept the card very simple, so the pony (whom I've named Violet) could take center stage.

Mermake a wish

Today's card features a digi stamp from The Greeting Farm. This particular stamp was offered as a freebie in one of their newsletters a little while back, and I've been meaning to color it and use it on a card for ages now.

For my coloring, I tried something new and combined Copics with my Prismacolor pencils to add an extra touch of texture. I like how it turned out, and how it added a bit of extra depth to the image - particularly the hair. I'll have to experiment with this combination method again. I've seen a couple of artists use it in YT videos with absolutely brilliant results.

A bit of ribbon, enamel shapes and a pretty mint background - and that's all there was to it.

SK September: Sweet Thoughts

I really liked Amelia's sweet design in The Greeting Farm's (OA) Journey stamp, so I decided to play with it again. This time, I went for a more neutral color scheme with bright red and yellow as accent colors.

I wanted to make this card look different, so I played with layers. I layered a vellum tag with a sentiment from Power Poppy's Farmer Market stamp, then set it against a neutral die-cut frame. I added Amelia with foam squares.

It felt like the card was missing a little something, so I added a couple of Prima paper flowers and a metal brad from my stash.
