Next up, we have this cute and playful pup from Paper Smooches. Paper Smooches was one of the first companies I bought stamps from when I first started card-making, and I still absolutely adore their quirky and fun style.

Rainy Day
It is a bright and sunshine-y day here today, but I really wanted to play with the adorable Rainy Day stamp set from Hello Bluebird. I created a really simple little scene using some watercolors. I've been desperately needing watercolor practice, and this was a great card for that.
I practiced layering colors and mixing a few colors to get a more desaturated/darker look. I think it turned out pretty fantastic!

Hello Pup
Doodlebug - Puppy Love sticker, Simon Says Stamp - Small Hello die
I made a kitten card, so I just had to make a puppy card to match. As with the previous card, I kept things simple and made good use of paper and cardstock scraps that I had laying around the desk.

SOG - Shark & Dino
Shark Cat is another fab digi that was suggested to Kristy and everything about it is perfect - from the annoyed look on the poor cat's face to the floppy fins and teeth on the shark costume. If you haven't seen the glorious shark cat videos, you ought to. Sittin' on a roomba, this awesome cat is a force to be reckoned with!
I didn't have a roomba for my card, but I did have the fabulous sentiment from Steampunk Kaylee that seemed to fit just perfectly. A lime ribbon, a doodad and some enamel dots got it all wrapped up.
T-Rex Dog digi is another new release and a perfect companion to our costumed feline. My favorite part of this stamp is the little paws. So cute!
For this card, I played with stripes and some sparkly sequins. I picked my sentiment from a die and a sticker - don't they go so well together?

MFT- Birthday Pooch
It has been a few very busy weeks. Between work and some secret crafty news, I've had very little free time - and I spent most of it being crafty. I've re-organized my stamps, gone over a stack of embellishments and sat down to make a card or 3. Overall, it's been very productive, though it's also made for a very quiet blog...
Today's card features a retired stamp set from My Favorite Things called Cupcake Cutie:
I got this stamp set a little while ago, during one of the retirement sales My Favorite Things had in their shop. I loved the design of the set and the style the images were drawn in. I actually have a few digital stamps from the same artist, and they've been fun to use. So, it was a no-brainer that I would get this set while I still had the chance.
As it happens with all the "retired" sets I own, I hesitated using it. Since I couldn't really link to the set, I thought people might be frustrated to see it in use and not be able to buy it. But... As time goes on, I've got more and more retired supplies and trying to stay current is both expensive and frustrating.
So, I decided to make better use of the sets I have and made a simple birthday card.
