Sending hugs

2020 has been a rough year, both personally and for the world as a whole. The majority of this past year has been focused on staying safe and healthy. And though creativity is good for reducing stress, card-making was just more than I could handle most days.

I spent most of 2020 journaling. Not in the pretty kind of art journals that are worthy being shared, but the "let me get this on a page and out of my mind" stream of consciousness writing that kept me sane on most days. The only decision I had to make was which colored pen to use that day.

Things are still not great, but they're slowly getting a little better. So, I'm easing my way back into creativity and slowly getting back into card-making. It won't be on a regular schedule most of the time, but at least I am making the effort of using my supplies again.

Here's to 2021 being a good year.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Glad you are back, even if it isn't on a schedule. I always appreciate your methods and philosophy on using your stash, and the trend has grown significantly. Even Justine Hovey has declared "enough is enough" and will just be focusing on using her stash. Anyway, I enjoy your cards and posts, so I was happy to see you in my inbox!!!

    1. Thank you so much, Karen! I really appreciate your support and your kind comments.

I am so happy to see that trend of "use what you've got" grow - and in visible places like YouTube. I've been trying to use my stash for a while now, as I found it impossible to keep up with the increasingly faster pace of new releases the industry was setting. With how transformative this last year has been, I'm not surprised more people are speaking up and focusing on what they already have. This hobby shouldn't only be fun if you have the latest and greatest, and I appreciate seeing the shift to include all kinds of supplies.

I'll be continuing to share, and hopefully have a few more gems and useful tips over time. I'm just giving myself permission to be a little more casual so I'm not stressing out over posting. :)
