The third and final card features one of the main reasons why I love and still keep stickers in my stash - a chance to try out a completely different style or theme without having to buy a ton of new supplies and learn a ton of new techniques.

For example, I have a few pinned "style" images that I adore the look of. It's got a vintage warmth to it and it combines cream, white, craft and natural things like twigs, leaves and butterflies. I'm not sure exactly how to classify it, but I know I wouldn't be able to pull off that look with my current collection of super cute stamps and dies.

Grabbing a sticker set that features that style would allow me to experiment with the look and the ideas without investing into a permanent supply (like a stamp). If I grow out of a style or find it too frustrating to work with, I can just pass the stickers on to someone who will enjoy them.

Humming Thanks

Lawn Fawn - Gleeful Gardens

Hummingbirds seem to be the trend lately, so I thought I'd jump in with a simple humming bird card using Lawn Fawn's Gleeful Gardens stamp set. I really enjoyed coloring the bird, using some blue and pink tones. I also added a whole bunch of enamel dots in bright colors to finish off the simple card.

Pink Summer

I wanted to create another fun summer card with the VW bus, so I decided to pull out my Distress Oxide inks and make a yellow-to-pink gradient background. This gradient is most definitely "summer" for me, and it seems to be a trendy throwback to the 80s and 90s.

I opted for no sentiment on this card, as I didn't want to obscure the gradient too much. I also added some very sparkly iridescent sequins that really make the card shine.

(SCS) Pika-choose you!

One of the things that my DT term over at Splitcoast Stampers did was to push me outside of my comfort zone. So, here's a card featuring a Pikachu that I drew and watercolored myself, and a punny sentiment spelled out from Elle's Alpha's (from Avery Elle).

It's not perfect, of course, but I'm still pretty proud of how it turned out.

Fashion Love

Another mega busy day for me and a quick card share!

This card features The Greeting Farm's Fashionista, one of the stamps from the Super Secret Stamp Club.

I went with a trendy color combo -- brown (wood), teal and gold.

Hi Pup!

One of my favorite things about Some Odd Girl stamps is the abundance of cute animals. Sometimes you just need that perfect dog, cat or fish. Between clear stamps and digis, SOG's got you covered.

Today's card uses the digi stamp Puggle. I just couldn't resist his cute completely-smooshable face. I printed him out and colored him in with Copics. I went for a really light brown palette, with a few spots of darker fur on his face, paws, ears and tail. I'm sure I'm not completely on-point with the coloring, but it's close enough.

Since the pup was lightly colored, I continued with bright colors for the rest of my card. I used some fun patterned paper, cut at a diagonal, along with light blue cardstock. I embellished with a few enamel dots and a piece of flair.

Renew and Gold

 Thinking about trends always gets me in a conflicted mood. On on hand, I do want to try out the great new thing everyone else is playing with. But on the other hand, I also want to stand out from the crowd and do something completely different. So what usually ends up happening is that I'll buy some tool/supply/etc to try out the new trend, and then wait forever to use it. By that point, the trend has moved on and it feels like I'm too late to the party. I end up not trying out the trend or not sharing my attempts.

So, after an agonizingly long inner monologue, I've decided to just be sensible about it. If the trend meshes with my style or if I already have tools to do it, I'll plunge right in. Otherwise, I'll do my own thing and wait for the trends to change.

Why do I mention this? Because the card I'm sharing today has a very trendy element -- gold foil. It seems to be all the rage lately, and I've seen a ton of lovely cards and videos featuring a variety of foiling techniques. But if I'm perfectly honest with myself, it's not something I can see myself using a ton - and I can back this up with the fact that I rarely use my embossing, which gives a pretty similar effect.

I happened to get this gold foil from a paper pad by My Mind's Eye (Fancy That). I had bought the pad because of the peachy and pink colors that I'm still in-love with, so the gold foil was just a bonus. And it made for a great trendy and rich background.

Of course, a rich background calls for a special stamp. I used Some Odd Girl's Renew stamp - which has the lovely princess that's just plain fun to color. A plum card base and a couple of enamel dots is all it took to finish the card off.
