Rainy Day

It is a bright and sunshine-y day here today, but I really wanted to play with the adorable Rainy Day stamp set from Hello Bluebird. I created a really simple little scene using some watercolors. I've been desperately needing watercolor practice, and this was a great card for that.

I practiced layering colors and mixing a few colors to get a more desaturated/darker look. I think it turned out pretty fantastic!

Beachy Thank You

Sometimes, I just want to make a really simple practice card - no more than 10 minutes and using an idea that has been brewing in my brain for some time. I don't always share these quick cards, as they sometimes feel kind of amateurish and way too simple.

But I don't like the idea of curating my cards to the point of only sharing the most amazing. Sometimes less-than-amazing will inspire someone far more and maybe even make them feel more confident in their own abilities and progress.

So, I'm sharing this simple card today, and hopefully sharing a few more practice cards down the road.

Cookie Tag

I wanted to play with the Lawn Fawn cookies stamp again, but this time I thought I'd pull out some supplies that I don't often use - tag dies and ribbon.

I paired the tag with a fun patterned paper from doodlebug. It turned out so fun!

Hello Spring!

Happy Spring everyone! Since it's now officially spring in my corner of the world, I thought I would make a spring-inspired card.

I used the sweet bunny from Mama Elephant and some strips of patterned paper from my scraps stash. I should really find more ideas to use my scraps stash like this. I really like how this card turned out!

Pink Hugs

In contrast to yesterday's masculine card, today's card is very pink and feminine. I may save it as a Mother's Day creation.

Sleepy Musings

It's a sleepy Tueaday today, so I wanted to share a sleepy card featuring the ever-so-amazing Birdie Brown sheep and a happy moon.

For this card, I played around with making my own starry sky. It turned out ok, even if some of my glittery stars are a bit chunky. I used soufflé Sakura pens - which are really cool, but they initially go on clear and get bright and awesome as they dry. Clear pens make it hard to draw delicate thin lines.

We belong together

I generally make only A2 cards - both because it's a canvas size I'm comfortable with and also because I only have A2-sized envelopes. But sometimes it's fun to switch things up a little and try a different size.

This card is a square card that's 4.25x4.25. I think I can modify an envelope to work with this card size. If not, I do have a few cute paper goodie bags that would fit.

The cute stamps are from Lawn Fawn and I think it makes for a cute little love notecard.

Rainy Day

After a busy (but relaxing!) family vacation, I'm back to sharing some projects!

For today's card, I used the Rainy Day Stamp from Hello Bluebird. I've had my eye on Hello Bluebird stamps pretty much since they launched. But since I've been on a spending freeze, I never got a chance to get any.

Since March is my birthday month and I had received a generous gift card, I did treat myself to a small crafty order that included a few Hello Bluebird stamps. I was drawn to this lovely rainy day set both for the images and the sentiments - they're just so fun and sweet!.

I kept my card very simple by pairing copic-colored images with a striped patterned paper and some gray cardstock. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
