TGF- So Hip

Today's creation features another Super Secret Stamp Club stamp from The Greeting Farm. This month's stamp is called So Hip and it features a smartly dressed girl with a super fun hat.

For this card, I went in a somewhat different direction than usual and did a mishmash of patterns and textures. I was going for that lovely multi-layer style I see some of the talented crafters post. I don't know that I was super successful at it, but it was really fun to try.

I stamped the stamp in black and colored her with Copics. I wanted to use mostly neutral colors, with a touch of really bright for extra contrast - so tans and a bright minty/aqua teal. I carefully cut her out with scissors and set her aside.

For the rest of the card, I grabbed some scraps I had laying about and just layered them together. I die-cut the "hello" sentiment from a taupe-grey cardstock and put a bunch of little dots on it with a white gel pen. I used the same taupe-grey to stamp the paint splatters.

The sequins are a combination of sparkling white, gold and teal. They seemed to match the rest of the colors pretty well.

Thanks for reading!

  2. My goodness, I totally love everything about this. Your card looks amazing. The colours of that oh-so-cute stamp are amazing. The spattered ink stamp looks like it would be fun to use too. I keep eyeing off stamps like that but lack the confidence, I think, to use them. I might have to give them a try. Gorgeous card, Elle!

    1. I think you'd really love the splatter stamp (this one is Impression Obsession Cling Stamp SPLATTER 1 C13125 - it's not terribly expensive). It's like using splatters but in a completely controlled way, so you know exactly what positioning you're going to get. It's perfect for when you want to add splatters in a very specific area. And you can still turn the stamp and do partial inking to make it look completely random. So, definitely worth investing in a small set, at least. :)

I also have WPlus9's Splats stamp. It's another one that's very affordable, but gives you a lot of variety.

Take the plunge with them! I bet you'd make some gorgeous cards. :D
